Specialization and Areas of Interest: 

Assistant Professor Suzanne Magalona-Nazal specializes in social development planning, civil society engagement, and training for development. She has carried out several urban development and land use planning projects in various cities and municipalities in the country, as social sector and participation specialist. For 18 years, she worked at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as senior civil society engagement officer, where she helped promote effective participation of civil society organizations (CSOs), including NGO, in ADB-supported projects all over Asia and the Pacific. Through training programs and developing knowledge products, she has helped build the capacity of governments and CSOs in selected Asian countries, to engage with CSOs more effectively. Assistant Professor Suzanne Magalona-Nazal’s areas of expertise includes project development, and incorporating participatory approaches in development projects.
