UP CSWCD Dean Prof. Justin Nicolas participated in a meeting between UP Executives, led by President Angelo Jimenez, and DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian and his team on January 9, 2026, at the DSWD Central Office. The discussion centered on strengthening UP’s commitment to public service by exploring partnerships and collaborative initiatives with the DSWD across its key programs and services.

UP officials present were Joel Joseph S. Marciano (Vice President for Research and Innovation), Lorraine Pe Symaco (Vice President for Academic Affairs), Alyssa M. Peleo-Alampay (Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs – Quality Assurance), Shari Niña Oliquino (Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs – Student Affairs), Richard S. Javier (Assistant Vice President for Administration – Human Resource Development), Ian Kenrich Fontanilla (Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs – Faculty Development), and Liezel Lectura (UPD HRD Benefits Division Chief).

Representing the DSWD were Assistant Secretary Janet P. Armas (Regulatory Services and Institutional Development Group), Assistant Secretary Atty. Baldr H. Bringas (Innovations and Program Development Group), Marigrace D. Mateum (Knowledge Management Division Chief, DSWD Academy), and Joko Plurad, a proud UP CSWCD alumnus.
