Asst. Prof. Pasos is a registered social worker. She finished Bachelor of Science in Social Work, Master of Social Work and is doing her dissertation for the Doctor of Social Development degree at the College of Social Work and Community Development, UP Diliman.
Asst. Prof. Pasos has had a 26-year experience in direct social work practice handling children, women and other marginalized sectors, families and communities that entailed the performance of a wide array of social work roles, utilization of various social work functions and methods including case management, community organizing, social administration, supervision and research and advocacy, among others. She has worked with various international, national and local government agencies and civil society organizations in the areas of education, child protection, livelihoods, social protection and advocacy that directly benefitted thousands of Filipino children and families since 1990.
Asst. Prof. Pasos is currently a faculty member teaching social work at the University of the Philippines, College of Social Work and Community development. She has authored an article on child labor and co-authored a book chapter on child protection in the Philippines that have been accepted for international publication in 2020. She has been part of relevant researches on COVID-19, social service workforce and child protection and related consultancies. She has also participated in international conferences on social work to present papers on child labor and child rights.
Asst. Prof. Pasos is a staunch advocate of human rights, women’s rights and children’s rights.
