CSWCD Memory Project: Martial Law Dokyu Screening and Talkback

Inihahandog ng UP College of Social Work and Community Development (CSWCD), sa pakikipagtulungan sa IBON Foundation, Concerned Artists of the Philippines, at PUP Center for Heritage Studies, ang libreng pagpapalabas ng dalawang Martial law-themed documentaries — Arrogance of Power (1983) at No Time for Crying (1986) mula sa AsiaVisions na nasa pangangalaga ng IBON Foundation. Susundan ito ng talkback kasama ang mga kinatawan ng faculty, REPS, staff, at mga mag-aaral.

Ito ay gaganapin sa ika-29 ng Setyembre 2022 (Huwebes) sa ganap na ika-4 ng hapon sa Bulwagang Tandang Sora (BTS), CSWCD, UP Diliman.  Ang aktibidad na ito ay bahagi ng pag-alala at paggunita sa ika-50 taong deklarasyon ng Batas Militar sa bansa.

Research Forum: Ugnayan para sa Hustisya at Dignidad: Pagtugon at Hamon sa Pagtataguyod ng Karapatang Pantao

The Research and Extension for Development Office (REDO) of the UP College of Social Work and Community Development (CSWCD) is organizing an online research forum entitled, Ugnayan para sa Hustisya at Dignidad: Pagtugon at Hamon sa Pagtataguyod ng Karapatang Pantao, on 29 April 2022, Friday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm to share the outcomes of CSWCD’s network building initiatives in response to the War on Drugs of the Duterte Administration, as well as to advocate for human-rights-based and people-centered governance anchored on principles of people’s empowerment, transformative social change and social justice. 

The research forum will highlight the results of the two studies conducted by the college under the Office of the Dean as follows: 1) Creating Innovations in Collaborative Action Research and Community Dialogue, and 2) Building Networks for Human Rights Approaches to Meet Humanitarian Needs in the Philippines

DSW Presents: Conversations on the New Eco-Social World

In line with the celebration of World Social Work Day 2022, the Department of Social Work will conduct a learning session entitled “Conversations on the New Eco-Social World” on 28 March 2022, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM (via Zoom). This learning session aims to share the initiatives and experiences of select organizations working with communities towards sustainable development.

PJSD 14 Research Forum: Resistance and Hope from the Fringes

  • Network Formation in the Time of the Pandemic: The experience of the Citizen’s Urgent Response to End Covid 19 (CURE Covid) by Remvert Bryan Placido, Louise Jashil Sonido, and Dr. Judy Taguiwalo;
  • Department of Community Development (DCD) –Modified Field Instruction Program: An Adaptive Initiative to Social Solidarity and Partnership in the Time of the Pandemic written by the DCD-FIP Committee.

Research Forum: Resistance and Hope from the Fringes

CSWCD will hold a Research Forum entitled “Resistance and Hope from the Fringes.” This will be held via Zoom at 2:00 PM on 18 November 2021.
The forum will feature  three (3) researches from the recently published Philippine Journal of Social Development Volume 14 2021. Insights on grassroots-led responses to the COVID-19 pandemic will be presented and discussed by the authors. The following are the authors who will discuss their respective works:
