  • Two decades of child protection experience working with rescued children who are physically and sexually abused, neglected, and abandoned.

  • Over 10 years of extensive experience in residential care facilities for children, including case management, operations and supervision of children’s village, resource mobilization and networking.

  • 6 years as a former member of the Inter-country Adoption Board Placement Committee of ICAB, the Philippine central authority on inter-country adoption, representing the social work profession. Reviewed and discussed cases of children cleared for inter-country adoption and match them with suitable foreign prospective adoptive parents.

  • 3 years as a hotline and rescue social worker in the country’s first child helpline for abuse children.

  • Broad knowledge on child welfare and protection framework, theories and approaches, protocols, guidelines, and policies.

  • 9 years of teaching social work practice to undergrad and graduate level and training social work practitioners in the field of child welfare.

  • Clinical expertise in working with children and families doing individual and group social work counseling, group work, sand play therapy and psychological first aid.

  • Co-produce/anchor a multi-awarded community radio program called “Sikhay Kilos Radio” at DZUP 1602 that features issues and challenges on social development including child welfare and protection.

  • A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Master of Social Work, with Clinical Concentration. Presently, a PhD candidate of the Philippine Studies program of the University of the Philippines, specializing in socio-cultural field.

  • Involve in several social development research including impact assessment and process evaluation.

  • Authored and co-wrote local and international publications and presented papers on children on both international and local conferences.

  • A staunch child rights advocate
