Prior to joining the faculty as an Assistant Professor in 2016, Jake was involved in sectoral organizing in the context of building a people’s movement. He worked as an organizer with youth and students, fisherfolk, peasants, urban poor and indigenous peoples in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. He also worked with Moro communities.
Areas of Specialization: war and the peace process in Mindanao, neoliberalism and agrarian reform, land use conversion, large scale land acquisition (LSLA), and neoliberalism and social work.
